Coastal Carolina beats Division III member NC Wesleyan 98-73

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Elijah Wilson made four 3-pointers and scored 22 points to help Coastal Carolina beat Division III member North Carolina Wesleyan 98-73 on Wednesday night.

Jaylen Shaw added 18 points with seven assists for Coastal Carolina (5-4). Badou Diagne had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Chanticleers, who went to the free-throw line 35 times compared to Wesleyan's eight attempts.

Coastal Carolina led by just five points late in the first half before Shivaughn Wiggins' 4-point play started a 14-6 spurt to extend its lead to 44-31.

Wesleyan pulled to 59-51 midway through the second half, but Coastal Carolina went on a 12-0 run for a 20-point advantage with 8:33 remaining.

D.J. Weaver made a season-high seven 3-pointers and led Wesleyan with 23 points. Devontae Williams added 14 points and Adrian Moore had 11.

Twelve of Wesleyan's 28 field goals were from 3-point range.
