Coastal Carolina tops Presbyterian 87-58

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Ron Trapps scored 21 points with five 3-pointers and Coastal Carolina topped Presbyterian 87-58 on Thursday.

Coastal Carolina (9-8, 3-4 Big South) shot over 52 percent, including 11 of 26 from beyond the arc. Elijah Wilson and Jaylen Shaw finished with 15 points apiece and Badou Diagne added 14 points. The Chanticleers outrebounded Presbyterian 42-25.

Reggie Dillard scored 11 points and DeSean Murray had 10 for Presbyterian (7-10, 2-4), which shot under 36 percent from the floor.

Coastal Carolina scored the first 25 points of the game over a 9 1/2 minute scoreless span for the Blue Hose. Presbyterian missed its first 10 shots and turned it over another five times in the stretch. The Chanticleers led 50-25 at intermission.

The lead reached 40 with 13:43 to go after a 3-pointer by Shaw and a Marcus Freeman free throw.
