Davidson's Jack Gibbs drops 41 points in front of Stephen Curry

Davidson junior guard Jack Gibbs almost missed more free throws than field goals on Tuesday night in the Wildcats' 109-74 rout of Charlotte.

Here was Gibbs stat line: a career-high 41 points off 14-of-17 shooting (6-of-7 from three and 7-of-9 from the free throw line). He didn't miss his first jump shot until 12:32 left in regulation, connecting on his first 14 attempts.

He also did this in front of the program's all-time great, Stephen Curry, who was in attendance along with his parents.

Gibbs' 41 points was the most points scored by a Davidson player since Curry dropped 43 Appalachian State in 2009, one of four 40-point games for him that season.

Gibbs finished the first half a perfect 9-for-9 from the filed (3-for-3 from three) for 25 points. For some players, that would be good enough for a season high. But not Gibbs, who already recorded a 35-point performance earlier this year against UCF.
