Davis scores 23 to help NC Central beat Savannah St, 82-78

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Raasean Davis had 23 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, and eight rebounds, Zacarry Douglas had a double-double, and North Carolina Central never trailed in its 82-78 win over Savannah on State Monday night.

Douglas finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while Randy Miller Jr. scored 22, hitting 4 of 6 from 3-point range, for NCCU (10-11, 5-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Douglas and Davis scored six points apiece during a 12-3 run that spanned halftime and gave the Eagles a 44-34 lead and Miller's final 3 pushed the lead to 11 points with 2:54 left. Zach Sellers answered with a 3-pointer 17 seconds later to spark a 14-6 run that pulled Savannah State to 78-75 when he made a layup with 29 seconds to go. Douglas hit two foul shots and Miller and Jibri Blount each split a pair of free throws from the to seal it.

NCCU shot 53 percent (30 of 57) from the field and outrebounded the Tigers 45-24.

Jaquan Dotson had 18 points, Sellers added 15 and John Grant Jr. scored 13 for Savannah State (5-15, 2-4).
