'Depressed' Chris Obekpa transfers out of St. John's

Chris Obekpa is following in Rysheed Jordan's footsteps: He's transferring from St. John's after vowing to return. But for what reason? The New York Daily News took a look:

"A source familiar with the situation said that Obekpa was struggling with the transition from former head coach Steve Lavin to new head coach Chris Mullin.

"The source however said Obekpa, who is in good academic standing, has seemed "depressed" after the events of the last three months. The source said he felt the anger of the Storm fan base and that it blamed him for the loss to San Diego State in the tournament. And he felt somewhat alone after several close friends graduated, Lavin was replaced and sophomore Rysheed Jordan left the program recently."
