Augustana led by as many as 15 points in the second half.

"We needed a game like this," Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery said after the game. "When you look at our schedule, we play Friday and Sunday, we have Marquette, Iowa State, Florida State, the tournament in Orlando. We better play somebody good who is going to expose some of our weaknesses as opposed to win by 25 and you don't really know what your weaknesses are yet. "The only downside is you can't get your young guys in there to get their feet wet a little bit more."

That was the final exhibition game for Iowa, which opens the season on Friday against Gardner-Webb.
