Elgin Cook scored, but is this considered a dunk?

Published Feb. 21, 2016 1:39 a.m. ET

In the first half of Saturday night's 91-81 win over rival Oregon State, Oregon senior forward Elgin Cook slipped through the Beavers' defense.

He took a feed from Chris Boucher and raised up for a two-handed slam. However, the ball bounced off the back rim and rocketed well over the hoop. Gravity eventually kicked in, and somehow the ball fell through the net for two points for Cook, putting the Ducks up 28-16 with 7:37 left before halftime.

Cook finished with 16 points and four rebounds. Tyler Dorsey had a game-high 25 points. His freshman counterpart, Tres Tinkle, scored 23 points in a losing effort for the Beavers.

But is this a dunk?

It was listed as a dunk on the score sheet.

He doesn't force it through the rim (at least not initially), but it's an attempt where both hands are above the rim. But we'll let you decide.
