ETSU shoots 73 percent in 1st half, cruises by WCU 75-52 (Jan 14, 2017)
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) Tevin Glass made all seven of his field-goal attempts for 14 points and East Tennessee State shot 73 percent in the first half en route to a 75-52 victory over Western Carolina on Saturday.
The Buccaneers finished at 57.1 percent from the floor.
ETSU had a 46-25 lead at halftime behind 14 points from Glass. The Buccaneers were 19 of 25 (73.1 percent) from the floor, while holding the Catamounts to 37.5 percent. Western Carolina turned it over 14 times in the opening 20 minutes.
Hanner Mosquera-Perea blocked a shot to start a fast break and Devontavius Payne's layup made it 61-35 with 12:02 left.
Mosquera-Perea and Cromer each scored 12 points for East Tennessee State (14-4, 4-1 Southern).
Adam Sledd, Marc Gosselin and Onno Steger scored nine points apiece for Western Carolina (5-13, 0-5), which lost its fifth straight. The Catamounts turned it over 27 times.
