Evansville rallies late to edge Austin Peay 77-69 (Dec 17, 2016)
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Jaylon Brown scored 25 points - including four free throws in the last 15 seconds - as Evansville battled past Austin Peay in the final six minutes on Saturday night 77-69.
Evansville (8-4), which shot 54.5 percent (30-55) from the field, was the fifth-straight team to shoot better than 50 percent against Austin Peay. Christian Benzon added a career-high 18 points off the bench on 8-for-10 shooting and had seven rebounds.
The Purple Aces trailed 64-57 before Benzon scored a pair of layups and then added two free throws in about three minutes to knot the game at 66. Ryan Taylor stole the ball from Austin Peay's Zach Glotta and raced for a basket, and Brown scored with 1:07 to play for a 70-68 Evansville lead.
Josh Robinson scored 24 points for Austin Peay (4-7), including 12 of 13 free throws, and Glotta added 14 points off the bench.
