Fleming scores 24 in LIU Brooklyn's win over Sacred Heart (Feb 18, 2017)
NEW YORK (AP) Iverson Fleming scored 24 points and Jerome Frink's free throw with 10.4 seconds left was the difference in LIU Brooklyn's 83-82 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
After Frink made 1 of 2 free throws, Sacred Heart's Quincy McKnight was fouled with 4.5 left, made the first but missed the second free throw, and Fleming slapped the ball away to prevent a final Pioneers shot.
Raiquan Clark scored 17 points, Jashaun Agosto 14 and Nura Zanna added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Blackbirds (18-11, 11-5), who remain in second place behind Mount St. Mary's after winning their fourth straight game.
De'von Barnett and Joseph Lopez scored 18 points each with Lopez pulling down 14 rebounds. Chris Robinson added 16 points and Quincy McKnight 11 for the Pioneers (13-16, 8-8), whose five-game win streak ended.
LIU took the lead for good on a 9-0 run capped by a Fleming 3-pointer with 11:17 to go.
