Florida A&,M 64, Savannah St. 53
Amin Stevens scored 15 points to lead four Florida A&M players in double figures as the Rattlers took a 64-53 win over Savannah State on Thursday night.
The Rattlers (2-1), who led 24-18 at halftime, shot 40 percent from the field for the game (20 of 50) and made 20 of 26 free throws.
Christopher Walker scored 12 points for Florida A&M and Larry Jackson and Rasheem Jenkins chipped in 11 apiece.
Jovonni Shuler, who scored 25 points, was the only player in double figures for the Tigers (1-3), who shot just 29.6 percent from the floor (16 of 54).
Savannah State stayed within reach of the Rattlers by hitting 6 of 13 3-pointers and 15 of 20 free throws. The Tigers also won the battle of the boards 42-32, but turned the ball over 19 times compared to only 13 for Florida A&M.
