Isaiah Stokes, brother of former Tennessee Volunteers star Jarnell Stokes, has signed with the Gators. This brings the total of commits to Florida’s 2017 class to three. The other two are DeAundrae Ballard and Chase Johnson.

Evan Daniels of Scout.com had the report:

2017 recruit Isaiah Stokes signed a Letter of Intent with Florida, a source told Scout.

Stokes, of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, picked Florida over interest from a host of schools including Iowa State, Tennessee and TCU.

That now tallies not just three players for the Gators for 2017, but three forwards.

Stokes is a 6’8″ power forward weighing in at 285 pounds. His older brother Jarnell played his ball at Florida rival Tennessee. The Florida-bound Stokes hails from Memphis, Tennessee and currently plays basketball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, which creates an obvious connection with the Gators.

Stokes has seven offers, which includes North Carolina and his brother’s alma matter, Tennessee.

Stokes is ranked as the No. 150 overall player in the nation in the class of 2017 according to the 247 Composite. As far as his position goes, he’s currently the No. 36 ranked power forward.

According to 247Sports’ Top 247 rankings, however, Stokes is the No. 77 ranked prospect in the nation and the No. 20 ranked power forward.

It’s a very solid commitment for the Gators either way.

Florida’s basketball season is off to a tremendous start. It hopes to continue the momentum on the recruiting trail and the season. The Gators’ next three games are as follows:

12/1 – at UNF

12/6 – vs. No. 4 Duke (at Madison Square Garden)

12/11 – at Florida State
