Florida International dumps Concordia (St. Paul) 77-67 (Nov 19, 2017)
MILWAUKEE (AP) Trejon Jacob scored a career-high 23 points, Michael Douglas added a career-high 16 and Florida International beat Division II Concordia-St. Paul 77-67 on Sunday.
The Golden Panthers never trailed and extended their early 17-16 lead to 29-18 when Douglas converted a 3-point play and made a 3-pointer with 7:33 before halftime. Concordia shot 1 of 9 in the final six minutes of the first half.
Bryndan Matthews brought the Golden Bears to within 56-51 on a 3-pointer with 15:34 left but never got closer.
FIU (2-3) passed out 13 assists, grabbed seven steals and had just seven turnovers. Its bench outscored the Golden Bears 29-12 en route to snapping its three-game losing streak. The Golden Panthers, who were 7-24 last season, won their first non-conference road or neutral-site game since Dec. 22, 2015 when they beat Binghamton 66-49.
Matthews led Concordia with 16 points. Avan Ward had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Ted Brown had 10 points.
