Floyd with 32, SFA rolls over New Orleans 82-58

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Demetrious Floyd nailed six 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 32 points as Stephen F. Austin stayed perfect in Southland Conference play, beating New Orleans 82-58 on Monday night.

The Lumberjacks, who shot a school-record 72 percent from the floor in their 97-62 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday night, kept the hot streak going, hitting 60 percent of their field goal attempts. They also made 11 of 18 from beyond the arc.

Floyd, who had 21 points in the second half, made 13 of 16 field goal attempts. Thomas Walkup added 19 points, Clide Geffrard had 12 and Jared Johnson chipped in 10 for Stephen F. Austin (12-5, 5-0)

The Lumberjacks led 49-41 at the break. Floyd scored 13 points early in the second period to give SFA a 66-47 lead at the 11:43 mark.

Kevin Hill had 12 points and Erik Thomas added 10 for New Orleans (5-11, 1-4).
