For the second time in his career, former Blue Devil Jabari Parker will have his NBA season cut short. Parker tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of this season and most likely the start of next season. The surgery and rehab is expected to require 12 months for a full recovery.
Jabari Parker was in the midst of a career season dominating in the NBA before tearing his left ACL Wednesday night. The 6-8 forward was averaging 20.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Parker also suffered a season-ending ACL tear during his rookie season, forcing him to miss most of his first year and the beginning of the 2015-16 season.
Parker excelled in his only season with the Blue Devils earning ACC Freshman of the Year in 2014. Jabari Parker was an All-American at Duke averaging 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. The third-year NBA player was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Parker has improved each season and is becoming a star player in the NBA. We hope Jabari Parker has a successful procedure and returns to continue excelling in his professional basketball career!
