Francis' FT's send Wagner past American 71-70 (Nov 18, 2017)

NEW YORK (AP) Blake Francis scored 24 points including a pair of game-winning free throws with 13 seconds left, and Wagner rallied late to beat winless American 71-70 on Saturday.

Down 70-66 after Sa'eed Nelson made 1 of 2 free throws with 45 seconds to go, on Wagner's following possession, Elijah Davis converted a 3-point play off a layup with 29 seconds left. Davis also made a pair of free throws with 53 seconds remaining to reduce the Seahawks' deficit to 69-66.

Wagner went up 25-13 on a 3 from Francis with 11:53 to play before halftime, but the Eagles outscored the Seahawks the remainder of the half 19-10 and trailed by just three at intermission.

Davis finished with 18 points and made all nine of his free throws while Wagner (2-1) shot 24 of 28 (85.7 percent) from the free throw line against 17 for 28 (60.7) for American (0-3). Wagner had a 40-29 rebounding edge

Sam Iorio led the Eagles with 24 points and nine rebounds and Nelson had 23 points.
