Georgetown's Akoy Agau out indefinitely with torn ACL

Published Oct. 24, 2015 3:41 p.m. ET

Georgetown forward Akoy Agua will miss the upcoming season after suffering a torn ACL, head coach John Thompson III announced on Saturday.

Agua played in a limited role at Louisville before transferring to Georgetown midway through last season.

The 6-foot-8 Agua was expected to add some depth to a frontcourt that will rely mostly on sophomores and freshmen. Isaac Copeland and Paul White return, while the Hoyas add Jessie Govan and Marcus Derrickson this season.

Agua made 22 appearances for the Cardinals, averaging 0.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.
