Georgia knocked off Furman 84-78 on Thursday night, and once again Yante Maten and J.J. Frazier led the way.
The Dawgs are now 2-1 on the young season, and they are still looking for someone other than their best two players to give them a significant contribution.
Through three games, Maten and Frazier have accounted for 59 percent of Georgia’s points.

Maten is averaging 21.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 59 percent from the field. Maten has even added the three-point shot to his repertoire this season, knocking down four of his nine attempts from beyond the arc.
Frazier is averaging 19.0 points and 4.3 assists while shooting 47 percent from deep so far this season.
But that’s about all the Bulldogs have gotten from a scoring standpoint.
So far, outside of Maten and Frazier, not one other player has scored in double figures in a game this season.
Juwan Parker is the team’s third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder, averaging 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds after missing all of last season with an achilles injury.
Derek Ogbeide is the only other player that has started every game so far this season, but only averaging 17 minutes per game. Ogbeide is averaging 6.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Georgia went 20-14 (10-8) last season and just narrowly missed the NCAA tournament. If they’re going to improve on that and get into the big dance this season, they’re going to have to get more significant contributions from their complimentary players.
