Grand Canyon keeps home streak alive, tops Arkansas St 96-72
PHOENIX (AP) — Michael Finke scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Grand Canyon won its second straight home game to start the season, thumping Arkansas State, 96-72 on Friday night.
Grand Canyon won its third straight game after losing it season opener at South Dakota State. The Antelopes have won 52 home games over the past four seasons, the fourth highest total in Division I behind only St. Mary's (55), Oregon (53) and Louisville (53).
Finke, a graduate transfer from Illinois, scored 11 of his points in the second half. The Antelopes had six players score in double figures, shooting 32 of 65 from the field (49.2 percent). Damari Milstead added 14 points and grabbed a career-high five steals, and Oscar Frayer contributed 13 points.
Ty Cockfield hit 11 of 16 shots from the field and finished with 24 points to lead the Red Wolves. Grantham Gillard added 16 points.
