Harper scores 22, Drexel bounces back from 18-point deficit
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Troy Harper had 22 points and Drexel overcame an early 18-point deficit to defeat James Madison 73-68 on Saturday.
Stuckey Mosley, who led James Madison with 25 points and seven rebounds, scored 11 points as the Dukes opened a 22-4 lead nearly eight minutes into the game. Nearly as sudden, Drexel stormed back to lead 33-31 at halftime as Harper scored 11 points and Trevor John six in the 29-9 outburst.
Drexel led throughout the second half and by as many as 12 points, 65-53, inside of four minutes to go.
John had 15 points and six rebounds for Drexel (10-11, 4-4 Colonial Athletic Conference). Camren Wynter added 14 points and James Butler had 9 points with 16 rebounds.
Matt Lewis added 21 points for the Dukes (9-11, 2-5).
There were only 11 bench points — six by James Madison and five by Drexel.
