Harvard blows 16-point lead, but beats Columbia (Feb 17, 2017)

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) Seth Towns scored 20 points and Harvard beat Columbia 78-72 on Friday night after blowing a 16-point halftime lead.

Siyani Chambers added 13 points plus eight assists and Bryce Aiken 12 points for the Crimson (15-7, 7-2 Ivy), who lost at Columbia 65-62 on Jan. 28 but have won four of five since. The victory also snapped a three-game losing streak to the Lions (10-12, 4-5), who have lost four of five.

The Lions took their only lead of the game with 3:12 remaining at 70-69 after Mike Smith intercepted a pass and scored. Corbin Miller responded with a 3-pointer and two free throws from Weisner Perez. Columbia had two 3-point tries roll in and out before Chambers and Aiken added two free throws each.

Smith scored 14 points with six assists, Patrick Tape added 13 points, Luke Petrasek 12 and Quinton Adlesh 10 for Columbia.
