Hooker leads North Dakota in 88-72 win over Southern Utah

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) Quinton Hooker scored 28 points, shooting 11-for-11 from the foul line, and North Dakota coasted to an 88-72 win over Southern Utah on Saturday.

Geno Crandall and Conner Avants had 13 points apiece for North Dakota (10-9, 5-3 Big Sky), which shot 54 percent from the field and was 27 of 30 from the line. Drick Bernstine added 12 points to go with a career-high 14 rebounds and Cortez Seales had 11 points.

North Dakota took the lead for good with a bucket from Seals that sparked a 15-2 run and made it 22-12 with 9:52 left in the first half. The Fighting Hawks cruised to a 43-21 advantage at the break and hung on to its double-digit advantage the rest of the way.

Trey Kennedy scored 17 and Travon Langston 15 for Southern Utah (4-13, 2-5), which held a 51-45 scoring advantage in the second half.
