Hopkins, Taylor lead Fresno State past San Jose State 77-57 (Feb 15, 2018)

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Jaron Hopkins scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half when Deshon Taylor scored 12 of his 19 and Fresno State pulled away for a 77-57 win over San Jose State on Wednesday night.

Hopkins had two quick baskets to open the second half for the Bulldogs (18-8, 8-5 Mountain West Conference), who led 32-31 at intermission. He also had the last four points of a 10-0 run that made it 60-39 midway through the second half.

Taylor had three straight 3-pointers after a 3-point play in three minutes in the midst of a 28-8 run.

Keith Fisher had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Spartans (3-21, 0-13), who have lost 13 straight. Ryan Welage added 15 points.

San Jose State had a 23-6 run in the first half to take a 26-17 lead but the Bulldogs answered with 13 points late in the half.
