Idaho routs West Coast Baptist, 98-44 for second win
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Cameron Tyson scored 16 points and led six players into double-figure scoring and Idaho snapped a two-game losing streak by pummeling West Coast Baptist in the final game of the Vandal Holiday Hoops Showcase on Tuesday night.
The Vandals opened the four-game series with a win over Bethesda College, but dropped decisions to Northwest Nazarene and UC Santa Barbara.
Idaho (2-4), which got a 40-point effort from its bench, raced to a 50-20 lead at intermission and cruised.
Geno West and Cassius Smits-Francisco each added 12 points and Jared Rodriguez and Trevon Allen each contributed 11.
Idaho shot 37 of 65 (57 percent) from the field, including 7 of 20 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Vandals took a commanding edge on the boards, outrebounding West Coast Baptist 49-30 and collecting 21 assists on 37 made baskets.
WCBC, a member of the National Christian College Athletics Association, got 16 points from Ian James Russell.
