Illinois Basketball: Illini Fans Think Trent Frazier Exceeds All
The Illinois basketball season is right around the corner and hopefully, John Groce and company change the ugly trend of losing.
While all Illinois Fighting Illini fans will be cheering on the team this season, there is the class of 2017 still to focus on.
Like all of you know, Illinois has snagged four talented players for next season already. These four players are the building blocks for the future.
Illinois will add 5-star center Jeremiah Tilmon, 4-star guard Da’Monte Williams, 4-star point guard Trent Frazier, and 3-star guard Javon Pickett.
In a short survey I did today, I asked Illinois fans which of these four players will have the better career at Illinois.
Which recruit will have the better career with the #Illini?

I thought Tilmon was going to win this poll because of how highly touted he is coming out of high school.

But, I think the Illini fans are sick of not having a point guard for the program. They receive that in Frazier who can distribute the ball as well as score.
And much like the 47-percent of Illinois fans who voted for Frazier, I would agree with that majority.
I think Frazier is going to be a three or four-year player who will dominate in the backcourt for the Illini. He is going to be a refreshing player to see since the Illini haven’t had a stable backcourt in years.
All four of these players are extremely important, don’t get me wrong. But, I think Frazier has a chance at being special for a long time.
The second place finisher is Tilmon with 36-percent. He is going to be great as well but I don’t think he lasts as long with the Illini because the NBA will be calling.
In 2017 we get the privilege of seeing these four players take the court and make the Illinois basketball team national contenders once again.
