Jarvis Garrett's mask is a cross between Bane and Hannibal Lecter
Rhode Island sophomore guard Jarvis Garrett suffered a jaw injury when he was struck with Shavar Newkirk's elbow two weeks ago in a loss to Saint Joseph's.
According to Bill Koch of the Providence Journal, Garrett was fit for special mask last week so he could make his return to the floor. For the past three games, the 6-foot-1 point guard has stepped onto the hardwood looking like a cross between Batman villain Bane and Hannibal Lecter.
And the mask may also have made him a fiercer competitior: Garrett's averaging 19.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists over the past three games, including a career-high 28 points against La Salle (you'd run, too, if you were faced with this scary opponent).
During Friday night's one-point loss to No. 19 Dayton, the fans had fun with the horrifying mask.
