John Calipari shoots down NBA rumors again

Published Jan. 11, 2016 11:16 a.m. ET

Maybe a decade-long contract that eclipses nine figures isn't enough to uproot John Calipari from the Bluegrass State.

On Monday morning, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported that Calipari's would need whopping 10-year, $120 million to considering taking the Brooklyn Nets -- or Sacramento Kings -- job.

Calipari took to Twitter to respond to the talk of him returning to the NBA.

Since returning to the college level, Calipari has guided teams to five Final Fours (four at Kentucky) and a 2012 national championship. That hasn't stopped NBA teams from courting him. This past spring, Kentucky extended Calipari's contract through 2022, while he continued to reject NBA offers.

If Calipari were to jump at the chance to be the focal point of Brooklyn's rebuilding project, he'd be leaving another title-contending team behind, as Kentucky has a quartet of five-star recruits joining the program this fall.
