Kansas gets commitment from No. 1 recruit Josh Jackson
The college basketball season ended last week, but the recruiting wars are ongoing. Just ask the Kansas Jayhawks, who landed the top-ranked player in the Class of 2016.
Josh Jackson, a 6-7 shooting guard from Detroit, verbally committed to Kansas on Monday.

Jackson is considered by many outlets, including 247 composite, as the top-ranked player for next season. Jayhawks coach Bill Self is proving to be quite the recruiter, landing his second No. 1 recruit in four years (Andrew Wiggins in 2013).
The Jayhawks are vying for their 13th consecutive Big 12 title, and Jackson's commitment gets them one major step closer. Jackson averaged 26.9 points, 13.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists his senior season for Prolific Prep in Napa, Calif. He was named co-MVP of the McDonald's All-American Game last month in Chicago.
Jackson also won three gold medals with USA Basketball, including one in last summer's FIBA U19 World Championship. He averaged 12.1 points and seven rebounds during that last tournament.
