HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Jackson Kent scored on a breakaway layup after a loose ball scramble left three players on the floor, and Shakir Brown made four straight free throws as James Madison rallied in the final minute to edge Northeastern 73-69 on Saturday.

Kent led James Madison (7-18, 5-7 Colonial Athletic Association) with 25 points and Brown added 16, including a 4-for-4 effort at the foul line in the last 34 seconds. The Dukes ended a five-game skid.

Northeastern had come from eight points down to tie 67-67 on an Alex Murphy 3-pointer with 1:49 remaining. But, after a Northeastern steal, Murphy was charged with a turnover when he lost control of the ball, which was tapped to Kent. The 6-foot-7 senior raced down court ahead of two defenders to lay it in untouched for a 69-67 lead.

Bolden Brace led Northeastern (13-11, 6-6) with 21 points, Murphy and Begley added 13 each. The Huskies have lost six of the last seven.
