Kris Dunn named Big East Preseason Player of the Year, All-Big East teams announced
NEW YORK -- Providence junior guard Kris Dunn was selected by the coaches as the Big East Preseason Player of the Year, the league announced on Wednesday morning at the Big East Media Day at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Dunn averaged 15.6 points 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.7 steals in 2014-15. He was named Big East co-Player of the Year along with Villanova guard Ryan Arcidiacono last season. Arcidiacono, now a senior, is picked to repeat as an All-Big East first team selection, as does Georgetown guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera.
Villanova point guard Jalen Brunson was tabbed as Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year.
