Late blocks help North Dakota beat Eastern Washington 79-71

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) Geno Crandall scored seven of his 15 points in the final three minutes and added a key block to help North Dakota pull away and beat Eastern Washington 79-71 on Saturday.

Quinton Hooker scored 16 points for North Dakota (6-7, 1-1 Big Sky). Drick Bernstine added 15 points and 11 rebounds. Cortez Seales chipped in 10 points and four blocks.

Felix Von Hofe had 19 points to lead Eastern Washington (6-8, 0-2). Venky Jois and Austin McBroom had 17 points apiece.

With the game tied at 62-62, Seales and Crandall each scored four points and North Dakota regained the lead, 70-67. McBroom split a pair of free throws to pull Eastern Washington to 70-68 with two minutes left.

Hooker made a free throw before Crandall and Seales each blocked layup attempts with a minute remaining. North Dakota shot 8 of 10 from the line to seal it.
