Lee scores 32, leads E. Michigan past Central Michigan 99-80
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) Raven Lee scored a season-high 32 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, to lead Eastern Michigan past Central Michigan in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams Wednesday night.
James Thompson IV, Willie Mangum IV and Jodan Price scored 19 apiece for Eastern Michigan (9-5), a career-high for Price. Thompson grabbed 14 rebounds.
Lee and Thompson scored five each during a 11-3 run that put the Eagles up 71-61 midway through the second half. They led by at least seven thereon.
The Eagles hit 13 3-pointers and shot 65 percent - both season highs - from behind the arc. They came in averaging 5.1 made 3s per game and shooting just 26.6 percent from deep.
Josh Kozinski scored 18 and Braylon Rayson had 17 points for Central Michigan (7-7). Chris Fowler and Rayshawn Simmons scored 13 apiece. Simmons had nine assists.
The Chippewas had their seven-game home win streak snapped.
