Leufroy's 20 helps spark Lehigh past Arkansas State, 82-70
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Kyle Leufroy scored 20 points and Lehigh rode a strong first half to an 82-70 win over Arkansas State and earn its fifth win in seven starts on Saturday afternoon.
Lehigh's only losses have been to power conference schools Miami and Kansas State.
Leufroy turned a 3-point play to get the Mountain Hawks started, but Arkansas State led by 13 points, 22-9 with 11:14 left in the first half. Pat Andree hit a 3 with 10:53 remaining and followed it with a layup to spark a comeback to take a 25-22 lead. After Ty Cockfield tied the game at 25 with a 3-pointer with 5:00 remaining, Leufroy knocked down three 3s to spark a run that put Lehigh up 36-25 with 2:33 left.
Andree added 14 points and Lance Tejada contributed 12 for Lehigh, which finished 31 of 57 from the field (54.4 percent).
Cockfield finished with 30 points and was the only scorer to reach double figures for the Red Wolves (2-5), who are winless on the road in three starts.
