Long Beach State beats UC Davis 59-47

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) Justin Bibbins scored 16 points, Gabe Levin added 15 plus eight rebounds and Long Beach State defeated UC Davis 59-47 on Saturday.

UC Davis was within six with 10 minutes left. Travis Hammonds' basket with just under four minutes remaining extended Long Beach State's advantage to 52-42 and the lead remained in double figures.

Nick Faust, the 49ers' leading scorer, scored nine of his 11 points in the first half when Long Beach State (8-9, 2-0 Big West) went on a 14-2 run before the break for a 28-17 lead.

Josh Fox scored 13 points and Brynton Lemar 10 for the Aggies (5-10, 0-2), who have lost eight of their last nine games. Neal Monson grabbed 13 rebounds.

Both teams shot 40 percent and had 36 rebounds but UC Davis was hurt by 19 turnovers.

Long Beach State has won two straight following road losses to Oregon, Arizona and Duke.
