SEATTLE (AP) — Sean Flood made four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 19 points and Longwood held on for a 67-65 victory over Fairfield on Friday in the Elgin Baylor Classic.

Flood, in his second start this season, was 6-of-7 shooting, including 4 of 5 from the arc, with Jashaun Smith adding 13 points and Lorenzo Phillips 11.

A 3-point play by Franklin and two free throws by Flood put Longwood ahead 60-55 with 3:26 to go. Landon Taliaferro got the Stags (1-4) within 65-64 with a 3-pointer with eight seconds left. Phillips made two free throws before Fairfield's Aidas Kavaliauskas was fouled on a half-court heave with 4.5 seconds remaining. He made the first free throw but missed the next two and in the scramble for the rebound the ball went out of bounds to Longwood, which ran out the clock.

The Lancers (5-1), missing leading scorer Isaiah Walton (19.2 points per game), shot 50 percent in each half and are off to their best start in the program's Division-I area. No specifics were revealed why Walton was unable to play, the school saying only that he was unavailable for Friday's game and is day-to-day going forward.
