Louisville Basketball: Montrezl Harrell finds minutes during Rockets' win
Former Louisville basketball player Montrezl Harrell played a small role for the Rockets in their win over the Pelicans on Sunday afternoon.
The Houston Rockets and former Louisville basketball player Montrezl Harrell improved to 3-0 on the preseason with their win on Sunday afternoon. Harrell has seen minutes in every game so far and that is a good sign for a guy trying to make the Rockets’ regular season roster this season.
He bounced between the D-League and the NBA a lot last season and i’m sure he is hoping to find at least a bench spot on the Rockets this season. Since he has played a good amount of minutes so far, it would be a surprise to me if he wasn’t on the team at the start of the regular season.
According to ESPN, Harrell played 11 minutes tonight and had four rebounds, one steal, two blocks, and three points in Houston’s 123-117 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Former Louisville basketball player and current Houston Rocket teammate of Harrell’s, Chinanu Onuaku, yet again did not play for Houston today. It doesn’t look too good for Onuaku making the regular season roster this season.
Here is the rest of the Houston Rockets’ preseason schedule, courtesy of ESPN:
October 12th: Houston Rockets at New Orleans Pelicans 7:30am
October 15th: Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets 8:00pm
October 19th: Houston Rockets at Dallas Mavericks 8:30pm
October 21st: Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs 8:30pm
