Lyles leads 2nd-half charge in UMBC's 68-60 win over Albany (Feb 18, 2018)

BALTIMORE (AP) Jairus Lyles scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and UMBC rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat Albany 68-60 on Sunday, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Great Danes.

K.J. Maura scored 11 of his 19 points in the second half with Joe Sherburne finishing with 14, reaching 1,011 career points.

Albany (20-9, 8-6 America East) led by one before UMBC (19-9, 10-3) finished the final 3:06 on a 12-3 run with Lyles scoring six points and Maura four.

Albany was up 12 with 18 minutes left after a 3-pointer by David Nichols. But Lyles scored the Retrievers' next 10 points, Horvath connected on consecutive 3-pointers and Maura scored five straight points to finish the 21-8 run that gave UMBC a one-point lead with 5 1/2 minutes left.

Joe Cremo, who made five 3-pointers, scored 18 of his 25 points in the first half when Albany led 37-28.
