Malik Monk's 47 points help Kentucky take down North Carolina

Kentucky freshman Malik Monk set a record with his 47-point performance against North Carolina on Saturday, and helped the No. 6 Wildcats pull out a 103–100 win over the No. 7 Tar Heels.

Monk’s 47 points were the most scored by a Kentucky freshman, and the sixth-most scored by any Kentucky player. His biggest shot came with Kentucky down 100–98 and under 20 seconds to play. Monk pulled up for a three that would give the Wildcats the lead for good.

He also toyed with defenders on the way to 47.

Monk reached 47 on 18 of 28 shooting, with two assists and a steal.
