Manhattan beats George Mason 69-67

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) Shane Richards sank a jumper with a second to go that made the difference and Manhattan edged George Mason 69-67 on Wednesday night.

The Jaspers (1-2) trailed 67-66 with 18 seconds to play when Richards got the assist from Tyler Wilson - following a turnover by George Mason's Marquis Moore - and hit the jumper for the lead with a second left. He was fouled on the play and sank one from the line for the final score.

Richards finished with 13 points and three rebounds for the Jaspers. Rich Williams led Manhattan with 26 points and nine rebounds. Thomas Capuano had 14 points with four assists and five steals.

Manhattan trailed 42-31 at the break, and tied it at 60 on a Williams 3-pointer with 6:49 left to play.

Marko Gujanicic had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Patriots (2-4).
