Manhattan uses big second half to beat Colonels (Dec 22, 2016)

NEW YORK (AP) Calvin Crawford scored 19 points and Manhattan used a big second half to beat Eastern Kentucky 81-54 on Thursday as the Jaspers put together back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Naquan Council, with five assists, and Aaron Walker Jr. added 12 points each, Zane Waterman had 11 points and a team-high six rebounds, and Thomas Capuano made all three of his 3-pointers for nine points for the Jaspers (5-8), who shot 54.5 percent and were 26 of 30 from the free-throw line.

Nick Mayo scored 14 points and had nine rebounds. He was the only player to score in double figures for Eastern Kentucky (6-8), which lost its fourth in a row.

Trailing 30-28 at halftime, Manhattan quickly erased the deficit and went on a 23-5 run capped by a 3-pointer by Crawford to lead 51-35 with 13:16 left. A 3-pointer by Capuano made it 70-48 with 4:43 remaining.
