Matt Farrell Gets Something Better Than Basketball (Video)
Notre Dame pulled off one of the best surprises anyone can ask for. Especially Matt Farrell.
After scoring 13 points, dishing out seven assists, and helping Notre Dame defeat Colgate 77-62, Matt Farrell received on of the best early Christmas presents of his life.
Farell along with the rest of the Fighting Irish, had one thing in mind coming into this game – Win. After suffering back-to-back losses, Notre Dame was on the verge of a dramatic downfall they couldn’t afford.
What Farrell didn’t know, was he was about to get something bigger than any basketball game. The junior guard expected to win last night’s game, head back to his apartment or wherever he lives, and probably pass out. Notre Dame didn’t let that happen.
First Lieutenant Bo Farrell, wasn’t expected to return from Afghanistan until February, or thought his brother. He figured he’d make Matt’s night a little better by giving him one of the best surprises anyone can ask for.

A lot more people other than Matt were crying during this. Notre Dame caught everyone’s emotions during a video from First Lieutenant Bo Farrell to his brother, Matt. But as the camera began to backup, and First Lieutenant Farrell started to walk out onto the court, emotions peaked.
It’s something special to see brothers reunite. The excitement that came over Farrell was something not many people experience, but they all understand.
Thank you for serving this incredible country, First Lieutenant Bo Farrell. Enjoy the holidays with your brother.
