McDonald, Garrett lead Northern Kentucky to 93-65 win (Nov 12, 2017)

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, N.C. (AP) Drew McDonald had his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jeff Garrett added a double-double off the bench as Northern Kentucky cruised to a 93-65 win over Division III Wilmington (Ohio) on Sunday.

Garrett hit 6 of 8 shots for 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, both career highs with the Norse (2-0).

Northern Kentucky hit six 3-pointers, shot 53 percent from the field, grabbed 11 offensive rebounds in opening a 52-42 lead at the half. The lead reached 34 points in the second half as the Norse finished with 23 second-chance points and 42 points in the paint.

Andrew Russell led the Fightin' Quakers with 14 points. Wilmington was 6 of 25 behind the arc. Outrebounded 50-26, the Fightin' Quakers had just two second-chance points and 24 points in the paint.
