The big man took his first official visit to Miami on September 23rd. Gak also took official visits to both Kansas and Florida.

The 6-foot-10, 195 pound Gak is a native of Australia and currently attends Blair Academy. While in Australia, he played at the same academy as current Miami freshman Dejan Vasiljevic.

“From watching (Miami’s) games last year and some of their practices this year, I really liked how they utilize their forwards and the freedom they have,” Gak told Scout.com

Gak makes a good point about how the forwards are used in the Miami system. If you can think back to the exceptional 2012-13 Miami Hurricanes, that team’s forwards were sensational. Kenny Kadji and Julian Gamble had a lot of freedom to play their game and it benefitted the team tremendously.

Gak is a player that has surged up the board in recent months. He’s the type of prospect that should instill patience because he still is a work in progress.

Gak is an athletic big who can surely run the floor and will likely be a four year kind of program player.

He joins ESPN top 100 point guard Chris Lykes and small forward Samuel Waardenburg in Miami’s 2017 class.
