Miami basketball team takes over hotel ballroom to play game of baseball

The Miami Hurricanes are back in the Sweet 16 for just the third time in program history -- the second in the past four years under head coach Jim Larranaga. He's completely revitalized the school's basketball team in short order and has his squad on track to reach the Elite 8 for the first time ever.

To stay loose before Thursday's huge matchup against No. 2 seed Villanova, Larranaga treated his players to a game of ballroom baseball. And yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.

The Hurricanes took over a ballroom at their hotel to pit the guards against the big men, smacking a ball around the room in what looks like a game you'd play in middle school gym class. Of course, it wasn't without some controversial calls and dispute with the "umpire," Larranaga.

Based on Angel Rodriguez's celebration at the end, it looks like the guards came away victorious in this one. Now, they just have to beat the Wildcats on Thursday.
