Miami (Ohio) comes back to beat Northeastern 67-61

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) Eric Washington had 17 points and six assists, and Miami (Ohio) forced 11 second-half turnovers to come back and beat Northeastern 67-61 on Sunday.

Washington was 5 of 9 from the floor. Geovonie McKnight had 17 points with three steals for Miami (3-2).

David Walker scored 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting, and Quincy Ford added 14 points to lead Northeastern (4-1), which had a season-high 18 turnovers.

The Huskies had a 32-29 halftime lead, and stretched it to 42-33 with 15 minutes left. McKnight made a jumper to spark a 21-5 run to give the RedHawks a 54-47 lead with three minutes left. Washington scored eight points with two 3-pointers, and Miami forced eight turnovers during the span.

McKnight scored seven of the RedHawks 13 points in the final three minutes.
