Michigan State Basketball: Miles Bridges out of boot, out vs. Oakland
Michigan State basketball will be facing its toughest test without Miles Bridges on Wednesday even though he’s out of his walking boot.
Things just haven’t been the same without Miles Bridges. Michigan State basketball had been sneaking by inferior opponents for three games before losing to Northeastern on home Saturday, dropping to 3-1 without Bridges.

The talented freshman forward has been out since the Duke game with an ankle injury and Tom Izzo says he will miss Wednesday’s game against Oakland as well.
The fact that he might not even be back for the Big Ten opener at Minnesota is concerning, but that might just be a precautionary measure. Bridges has been limited to the bike at practice and the team has been encouraging him along the way.
However, watching the Spartans lose to Northeastern Sunday night at home might motivate him that much more to get back as soon as possible.
It’s possible that the Spartans could get two big guys back within the next month, or so, with Bridges returning in the next week or two and Gavin Schilling might get the ‘OK’ to get back in action or he will be redshirted.
Bridges being out has hurt this team not only because he’s the leading scorer, but he provides much-needed defense in the post. Nick Ward has been doing most of the dirty work in the post and needs his freshman frontcourt mate back.
