Michigan State Basketball: Tom Izzo's mom celebrates in locker room (Video)
Tom Izzo’s 90-year-old mother, Dorothy, celebrated with the Michigan State basketball team after a big win Tuesday night.
One year ago today, legendary Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo had one of the toughest days of his life. No, he didn’t suffered a loss on the court, but rather the loss of his father. On Tuesday night, he shared a great moment with his 90-year-old mother in the locker room after a big win.

The Spartans toughed out a win against Minnesota after trailing by 13 at halftime in a hostile environment. Izzo’s mother was in attendance and witnessed one of the best comeback wins in her son’s head coaching career. The moment was not lost on Izzo as he invited his mother to the locker room to celebrate with the team.

As you can tell, she’s a little emotional, as is Tom, while celebrating with her son on the one-year anniversary of Carl Izzo’s (Tom’s dad) death.
Doing a breakdown to ‘family’ was a fitting tribute as well by the team at the end of the video. It’s clear that the Spartans are a close-knit group and Izzo’s mom was treated like family the second she walked into the locker room.
