Michigan State Recruiting: 4-star SG Nojel Eastern plans official visit

Michigan State recruiting is set to get a big visit from four-star 2017 shooting guard Nojel Eastern this weekend.

There’s a big official Michigan State recruiting visitor coming to East Lansing this weekend for the Wisconsin game. Heck, there are going to be many big names on campus, but the appearance of four-star 2017 point guard/shooting guard Nojel Eastern is an important one.

Eastern, who happens to be good friends with freshman defensive tackle Naquan Jones, is taking his official to Michigan State this weekend and many believe he is going to be a Spartan.

Michigan State got its first 2017 basketball commit in five-star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. last week and there’s an overwhelming feeling that Eastern will join him. Not just Eastern, though, but also four-star big man Xavier Tillman from Grand Rapids.

The Spartans currently have a few point guards such as Tum Tum Nairn, Matt McQuaid and Cassius Winston who can all play substantial minutes, but adding a 6-foot-6 kid who can play the one, two or three will be extremely beneficial and could cause mismatch problems for opponents.

Tom Izzo has been on a recruiting tear lately. Besides adding another five-star to his track record, he has been all around the nation, visiting Brandon McCoy, Tillman, Brian Bowen and he did see Jackson Jr. before he committed.

Eastern is a plan ‘A’ target and a guy who would fit well in the Spartans’ scheme. He is ranked the No. 59 overall prospect and third-best player in the state of Illinois, according to 247Sports. He is a major Big Ten target.
