Mississippi Valley State tops Arkansas-Pine Bluff 88-77 (Mar 04, 2017)

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) Isaac Williams scored 28 points, Marcus Romain added 23, and Mississippi Valley State sent Arkansas-Pine Bluff to its sixth straight loss with an 88-77 win on Saturday night.

Williams made 4 of 6 3-pointers and 10 of 14 overall for Mississippi Valley State (7-24, 7-11 Southwestern Athletic), which ended the regular season on a three-game win streak. Romain finished 12 of 14 from the free-throw line. TaJay Henry and Rashaan Surles added 15 points apiece.

The Delta Devils made 16 of 17 from the line in the first half en route to a 44-36 lead at the break. A layup from Henry with 17:04 left put Mississippi Valley State up 52-42, and the lead remained in double figures, reaching as high as 19.

Jaquan Lynch was 12 of 12 from the free-throw line and scored 24 points for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7-24, 6-12). Ghiavonni Robinson added 14 points and Charles Jackson made 4 of 5 3-pointers to finish with 12.
