Morsell leads Towson to 91-65 win over UMBC

TOWSON, Md. (AP) Mike Morsell came off the bench to lead a balanced attack with 17 points and added seven assists and Towson beat its city-rival Maryland-Baltimore County 91-65 on Wednesday.

Byron Hawkins added 16 points for the Tigers (9-4) with William Adala Moto adding 13 points and eight rebounds and Walter Foster 10 points. Timajh Parker-Rivera also had eight rebounds as Towson had a 38-25 advantage on the boards.

Towson shot 56 percent in the first half to race to a 47-26 lead with Hawkins and Morsell scoring 10 points apiece. The game was never in doubt as the Tigers shot 59 percent in the second half.

Jarius Lyles led the Retrievers (3-10) with 24 points. He had 10 as UMBC forged a 15-15 tie but the Retrievers had a nine minute stretch without a field goal that allowed Towson to make it 39-23.
